Enriching Lives through Online Training

PRICELESS

Even as kids, Jeff and I knew we were meant to be together. When we were teenagers, we’d sit on my front porch dreaming about our future—the children we’d have, what we’d name them, how happy we would be. Jeff always said, "I’m going to take good care of you;. I’ll be a millionaire by the time I’m 30. You just wait and see."

Jeff and I did get married. True to his word, he worked hard and took good care of us, but we weren’t wealthy. Three months after Jeff turned 30, I gave birth to our first child.

As we held our sweet baby, James, in the delivery room, I couldn’t help but remember Jeff’s dream. "Would you trade him for a million dollars?" I teased.

Jeff looked surprised. "Of course not. He’s priceless."

"Congratulations," I said. "You’re more than a millionaire. You’re a father."

HUGS

It's wondrous what a Hug can do,
a Hug can cheer you when you're blue,
A hug can say "I love you so"
or "Gee, I really hate to go."

A hug is "Welcome home again"
and "Great to see you, where've you been?"
A hug can soothe a small child's pain
and bring a rainbow after rain,

The HUG! There's no doubt about it ...
We could scarcely survive without it!
A hug delights and warms and charms,
it must be why God gave us arms.

Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
sweet for sisters, swell for brothers,
And chances are your favorite Aunt
loves them more than a potted plant.

Kittens crave them, puppies love them,
Heads of State are not above them.
A hug can break the language barrier
and make your travels so much merrier.

No need to fret about your store of 'em,
the more you give, there's more of 'em.
So stretch those arms without delay,
and give someone a hug today!!!

Virginia Satir (1916-1988), well-known family therapist, stated that every child needs hugs ...
Four hugs a day for survival,
Eight hugs a day for health, and
Twelve hugs a day for growth!

(It has also been said that adults need at least four hugs a day)
