Enriching Lives through Online Training
Hello. My name is Bob White. I am the owner/CEO of Personal Success & Leadership Institute and the editor of this website. You clicked on this page only after you first viewed the page on Gospel-related principles of success and leadership … so you must have at least a passing interest/curiosity in the impact of the Gospel. I also understand you have come to this page because you may be looking for a church. If so, I know your feelings … I was once in your shoes. I had searched/prayed for years before discovering/embracing the beliefs I now have … and because I feel my prayers were answered, I am eager to share what I discovered with anyone who may be searching.
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the Mormon Church). Of all Christian churches, ours perhaps is the most misunderstood. There are even those who claim we are not Christian … nothing could be further from the truth. The purpose of this page couldn’t be put any clearer than as stated in the Introduction to Elder M. Russell Ballard’s book, Our Search for Happiness, An Invitation to Understand the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints –
"Consider for a moment the word understanding. It’s a simple word, really—one that most of us use every day. But it means something that is quite remarkable. With understanding we can strengthen relationships, revitalize neighborhoods, unify nations, and even bring peace to a troubled world. Without it chaos, intolerance, hate, and war are often the result. In other words, misunderstanding. If I had to pick one word to describe my objective in writing this book, it would be understanding. More than anything else, I would like those who read these pages—especially those who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—to better understand the Church and its members. That doesn’t necessarily mean that my goal is to have every reader become a member of the Church, or even to accept our doctrines and practices—although I would be less than honest if I did not acknowledge that I would be pleased to see those things happen. But that isn’t really the purpose of this book. This book is about comprehension and understanding, not conversion. It has more to do with building trust, appreciation, and respect than it does with increasing church membership."
The following articles are made available to you to help increase your understanding of this church and our beliefs. In addition, another excellent source is a website the church has created for this purpose -- www.mormon.org . At this site, after reading its contents, you can even submit any questions you may still have and get a response directly from the church.
Might I suggest one bit of counsel from the Bible: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering…" (James 1:5-6)
