A CRY FOR HELP

Fred Smith, one of the truly outstanding consultants and management experts in America, gives us some helpful advice in his excellent book You and Your Network. Fred says that when others deal with us in a dogmatic or even a mean and vicious way, it doesn’t necessarily mean they want to hurt us. It could mean, and generally does, that they are acting that way because they are hurting. If you will remember that

every obnoxious act is a cry for help,

you are way ahead of the game. Recognizing and accepting this fact makes it much easier for us to take a calmer, more levelheaded approach to our functions as managers and as people.

THE GREATEST POWER

"When persons manifest the least kindness and love to me, O what power it has over my mind…" (The Prophet, Joseph Smith) Love is, indeed, the greatest power there is. If/When we practice it, Satan is utterly/totally powerless(!)
