BEFORE YOU DIE
(excerpts from Get the Most Out of Life, by Derrick Sweet)
Write your own eulogy [life script]. When you take the time to write your eulogy, you are communicating how you would like to be remembered. You are also declaring how you would like to live your life… The benefit of completing this exercise is life altering. You will have defined what the rest of your life will be about.
Write down one hundred things you want to do before you die. Prioritize your list using the ABC system. [Then] rank each activity according to importance to you (i.e. A1 is more important that A3, which is more important than B1. Finally assign a due date for each item and write any steps or plans that may be necessary for each. [Then DO them]
Tell people how you feel. … one of the biggest reasons we cry at funerals is that we don’t fully communicate to our loved ones how much we love them… Write down a list of the people who mean the most to you…Beside each name write down what you are committed to doing or saying to let these people know how much they mean to you… Don’t let another day go by without letting [them] know how you feel!
